Preparing for your first Session

When you think of Pilates you might picture a bunch of women in tight clothes, performing super flexible, unattainable exercises. But the truth is, Pilates is a very professional, client-centered practice. Men, women, and teenagers can reap the benefits of the mat or equipment based practice.  Most exercises are very similar to something you may have performed with a physical therapist or personal trainer and actually, most clients continue their postoperative work with us!

“So what really happens here?” you wonder.

Private & Group Pilates

You will be welcomed by Cindy, our studio manager or your instructor and you will be asked to sign in.

For group classes, you will enter our second studio space where mats will be laid out for you.  The instructor will lead you through a series of mat-based exercised, using your own body weight and occasionally small Pilates equipment like a ring, flex band or arc barrel.

For private Pilates sessions, you will be invited to sit on the reformers and tell your instructor any pain or injuries you are experiencing.  They will guide you through a series of movements catering to your fitness goals and modifying for any injuries or limitations.

Your Pilates workout can be challenging or gentle, sport specific or geared toward your health goals. Clients love the long, lean effect Pilates has on their bodies.  Some clients have experienced an increase in bone density and balance with fewer fractures yearly, less joint and lower back pain and have healed postpartum pain and incontinence. Don't take my word.. see what our clients are saying HERE.

What do I bring to Pilates?

We provide mats, water and the equipment for your workout.  Please wear yoga or toe-sox for sanitary reasons and to protect your feet from slipping with Pilates exercises.

What to wear to your first session?

You can wear comfortable clothing.  For men, we encourage a tighter short under loose shorts, as some of the reformer exercises are performed lying on your back.  No shoes are needed.

How do you sign up?

You can sign up for group classes & privates on-line with Mind-body online.  You can also call (845-809-5995) or email (info@taragregorio.com) or make an appointment to stop by and see the studio!
