Postpartum Anxiety Intrusive Thoughts with EFT tapping

  • Additionally, I want to talk about brain retraining today. The quickest, fastest way to change your thoughts, and it’s free, is brain retraining. So, you're already noticing these negative thoughts. What can you do about them? The best and fastest way is to write them down, but you don't want anybody to see those thoughts, right? When you're noticing the thoughts, I want you to say, “Stop, stop, stop,” or “Cancel,” using the three steps, and then replace that thought with something positive.

  • I used to think of my son as an area of concern for the longest time. For years, I’ve blogged about his persistent cough. I would picture him surrounded by a lavender haze, imagining that someone is protecting him. Even for myself, with anxiety, I would imagine someone protecting me, which helped soothe the anxiety. You could get anxious over these thoughts as well, but the fastest way to change them is to start with a gratitude list. What are you thankful for?

  • The fastest way to stop these thoughts is to start in the morning. The morning and the evening are the two most effective times for brain retraining, which is also known as neuroplasticity or limbic retraining. When you start changing these thoughts, your body may resist and come up with more ideas, but by working on your gratitude list, over time, your anxiety lessens, and your thoughts change.

Intrusive thoughts after pregnancy

Start with gratitude in the morning. What are you thankful for? You can write it down or verbally repeat it. In the evening before bed, repeat this practice. Catch yourself when you're thinking negatively, including about your body. Often, we are negative towards our bodies, especially after birth. Your stomach may be different, you may have stretch marks, and your pelvic floor, and digestion may have changed. Speak positively about your body. You're a whole new woman, a mom. Be grateful for this new body and the opportunity to raise beautiful children. Even though it’s hard, it will get easier. The first step is changing your thoughts.

It’s challenging when you're living with someone who doesn't have positive thoughts. To protect your energy, especially if you're an empath and very sensitive, consistently repeat positive thoughts to yourself. Eventually, people will notice how positive you are and may begin changing their thoughts. You can't change someone else's thoughts, but you can work on your own.

So, you've noticed your intrusive thoughts. They could be due to mild depression or anxiety creeping in, but there’s so much more you can do. The Present Mama goes through diet strategies to stay calm, how certain supplements may affect these thoughts related to the MTHFR gene, and herbal and homeopathic remedies to help soothe your body.
