15 Life-Changing Postpartum Books

Postpartum Books

After having my twins, I turned to books and writing as a way to heal my body, calm my intrusive thoughts, and support my mental health.

The postpartum season is often one of lack of sleep, lack of time, lack of energy, and for me, that lack amplified my negative thoughts. I found myself worrying about money, struggling with my changing body, and wondering how I’d ever adjust to life as a new mom of twins.

Books became my lifeline. They reminded me I wasn’t alone, gave me new tools to think differently, and offered comfort during the long nights. Out of all of my Kindle reads, these stood out as the most supportive for healing after childbirth, along with daily meditations, which you can find [here].

In the comments below, I’d love to hear from you: What books changed your life as a mom?

My Favorite Postpartum Books

  • 10. The Plan — Lyn-Genet Recitas

  • This isn’t a fad diet; it’s a science-based approach that helps you identify which foods cause inflammation in your body. By learning your unique food triggers, you can gently release weight, balance hormones, and feel more energized postpartum.

  • 11. The Antianxiety Food Solution — Trudy Scott

  • A practical, holistic guide that connects nutrition, brain chemistry, and anxiety. It teaches how amino acids, vitamins, and food choices can ease anxious thoughts and bring calm without relying on medication.

  • Trudy has an amazing website for anxiety as well. See it here.

  • 12. Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends On It — Kamal Ravikant

A short but powerful book on the transformative practice of self-love. With simple daily techniques, it shows how shifting your inner dialogue can help lift you out of depression and create a sense of hope again. The old cover of this book had a man with a gun to his head. Ooff.. that caught me off guard and triggered me to buy the book. We need to address our thoughts first, and this book helps guide you toward self-love once again.

💛 Motherhood is not meant to be walked alone. These books, along with my own healing practices, helped me find my footing again. I hope they bring you comfort, too.
