Watch the full video above to learn more.

  • If you're a mom who’s not sleeping well, has intrusive thoughts, is crying all the time, and feels all alone with no way out, you're in the right place.

We’re talking about postpartum depression today and how I overcame it in five simple steps.

If you’re struggling, it is not your fault.

Repeat that again: it is not your fault. Do whatever you can to make your life easier right now. Becoming a mother might be the hardest thing you’ve ever done and the most rewarding. Let me help you get through this time.

How long does postpartum depression last?

  • It can last for a few years; we just call it depression after a certain amount of time.

Postpartum Depression Natural Treatment

1. Supplements

  • Adding nourishing supplements is essential. Get tested by your doctor to check your vitamin levels. Common deficiencies include:

    • Magnesium reduces constipation and eases anxiety and nerves. To avoid diarrhea, be cautious of the dosage. Look for a combination of magnesium citrate and glycinate.

    • Vitamin D: Look for a liquid form. Pure Encapsulation is a good brand.

    • Zinc: Nourishes your body, reduces colds and flu, and restores gut lining.

2. Diet

  • A proper diet is crucial for restoring health. Consider green supplements like Amazing Grass. Don’t neglect probiotics, especially if you had a C-section. A healthy diet with good vitamins and healthy fats (like coconut oil or avocados) can stabilize blood sugar levels.

3. Gut Health

  • Women often suffer from dysbiosis, an imbalance in gut bacteria. Avoid gluten and dairy if they affect you. Restoring gut health improves the absorption of food and supplements and has a positive impact on mental health.

Natural Remedies for Postpartum

4. Adaptogens

  • These herbs restore your adrenals and reduce stress. Safe options while breastfeeding include Tulsi tea and Ashwagandha tinctures. Herbs like Motherwort combined with Ashwagandha can significantly improve your condition.

5. Nervines

  • Chamomile is common but not strong enough. Stronger options include Blue Vervain, Motherwort, and Lemon Balm. The best antidepressant herb is St. John’s Wort, but it has risks during lactation and interacts with SSRIs.

6. Mindset

  • Daily meditation, even for 5-10 minutes, can soothe anxiety and help you explore your inner conflicts. Often, depression stems from a disconnect between your current life and your expectations. Journaling and reflecting can help you understand and address these feelings.

Lastly, always ask for help. It is not your fault. Some people want to help you. As a mom, it’s hard to ask for help, but try asking one person today. If they say no, ask another. Someone is out there willing to help you recover from postpartum depression.
